Migos rapper Quavo has announced a new album, Rocket Power, out August 4. This is his first album since his nephew and fellow Migos member Takeoff was shot and killed last year in Houston.
"This album is for the Rocket, our true fans, and also this is my therapy. This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now," he said in an Instagram post announcing the album.
He continued, "This Album Is Embodying All My Emotions. Through the process of healing I've learned to turn tragedy into triumph. I had to dig deep into my purpose and find the power to keep striving. To my fans, thanks for being patient wit me and supporting Us. To my FAMILY, even when times get hard we kno our MAIN mission is to keep the Rocket name ALIVE. TIL INFINITY."
Quavo also shared a trailer for the album that shows him rapping in front of a rocket ship taking off into space. See it below.
Rocket Power is the follow-up to Quavo's 2018 debut album Quavo Huncho and follows recently released singles "Greatness," "Honey Bun," and "Turn Yo Clic Up," a collaboration with Future.
