Mike Patton Is <i>Bionic Commando</i>

On the heels of hot-selling first-person shooter Halo 3 comes an updated remake of original shoot-em-up game Bionic Commando. So what is the catch that makes it relevant for a music news story? Well, they have recruited Mike Patton (Faith No More, Fantomas, Peeping Tom, etc.) to be the voice of the game’s lead character, Nathan Spencer. Fans of gaming and Patton will know this isn’t the inimitable metal artist’s first venture into videogames: he also contributed his spastic vocals to The Darkness, which was released earlier this year. The buzz for this classic remake has been kicking around for close to two years now, as Capcom had gone back and forth between game developers until they finally settled. The game will be released Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms.
