Miley Cyrus attended the MTV Video Music Awards last night (August 26), performing "Slide Away" for the first time — and showing off some new ink.
The recently separated Cyrus was sporting a new tattoo on her left bicep, which featured Pixies lyrics, surprisingly enough.
The text reads: "My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free."
The lyrics originally appeared on "The Thing" from Pixies' 1990 "Velouria" single, and later appeared again on a remake of the track dubbed "The Happening," which appeared on 1990 LP Bossanova.
As People reports, the ink was done by celebrity tattoo artist Winter Stone.
Cyrus hasn't commented on the new tat, though it's hard not to interpret it as a reaction to her recent split from husband Liam Hemsworth after less than a year of marriage.
Following the VMAs ceremony, Cyrus was spotted with Kaitlynn Carter. The Hills actress (and recent ex-wife to Brody Jenner) has rumoured to be in a romantic relationship with Cyrus since an Italian getaway earlier this month.
