The Milk Carton Kids have only been around for a little more than a year, but the folksy Los Angeles twosome have already landed themselves a sweet record deal in the form of a contract with imprint Anti-.
This news follows the band's successful debut studio album, Prologue, which was released for free via the band's website and has been downloaded a reported 130,000 times. There's no word as to whether this previous collection will ever get a proper release through Anti-, but a press release confirms that the label is on board for an upcoming album.
A press release compares the duo to classic, bluegrass-tinged folk, and name checks the likes of Bert Jansch, the Everly Brothers and Harry Nilsson. Although it's unclear when the band's next album will arrive, they will spend the rest of 2012 on the road opening for the Punch Brothers. This North American jaunt includes a Canadian stop in Vancouver on November 24. See the schedule below.
