Miracle Fortress and DD/MM/YYYY Robbed at M for Montreal

Though it was mostly smooth sailing at M for Montreal over the weekend, two bands had their vans broken into outside of the Just for Laughs Cabaret on the corner of St. Laurent and Sherbrooke.

On Thursday (November 19), Graham Van Pelt of Miracle Fortress discovered that his hefty amplifier - left behind precisely because it has 15-inch speakers and would not be the easiest thing to lift - had gone missing from his vehicle. While he went on to play great sets with both Miracle Fortress and Think About Life, Montreal native Van Pelt was more baffled by the theft than anything else.

The next night, on a less expensive but equally vexing front, DD/MM/YYYY's Matt King lost a backpack full of clothes and other personal items, but that's all that thieves were able to grab from the Toronto punk band's van, because they'd already loaded their gear inside. Nevertheless, the invasion fuelled an intense DD/MM/YYYY performance.

So yeah, Montreal band robbers strike again. No word yet if any of these items were found and/or returned to these bands.
