Mo' Horizons

Some More Horizons

BY Sergio ElmirPublished Oct 1, 2005

After three albums of world class grooves, Mo’ Horizons come through with a collection of fused sounds from around the world. Featuring some of their favourite remixes, Some More Horizons is a trip across distant lands and sounds that stand on equally soulful ground. It features cuts from classic artists such as Gilberto Gil, Miriam Makeba, Wilson Simonal and Nina Simone, as well as some wonderful gems like the funky Howard Tate tune "Stop”, the Impressions doing a soulful version of "It’s Not Unusual,” Donald Byrd’s version of "Boom Boom,” and the soulful groove of "Follow that Arab” by Corduroy. By juxtaposing classic and rare soul and funk gems with slick club remixes from Mo’ Horizons, Some More Horizons becomes a series of finger-snapping and head-nodding tracks for any world groove lover.
