Though it's nearly been three years since Moby's last full-length release, Innocents, the DJ and producer born Richard Melville Hall has hardly taken time away from creating. Today, he has shared four hours' worth of ambient music that listeners can download for free.
LongAmbients1: Calm. Sleep. collects 11 tracks of softer works from the artist, the longest of which clocks in at over 35 minutes. "Over the last couple of years I've been making really, really, really, quiet music to listen to when I do yoga or sleep or meditate or panic," Moby explained in a statement on his website. "I ended up with 4 hours of music and have decided to give it away."
A visit to Moby's website offers a free download of the collection, as well as the option or purchase the work through Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Deezer or Tidal. Grab the collection over here.
"It's really quiet: no drums, no vocals, just very slow calm pretty chords and sounds and things for sleeping and yoga and etc.," he continued. "Feel free to share it or give it away or whatever, it's not protected or anything, or at least it shouldn't be."
Moby has also revealed that his long-awaited memoir Porcelain, initially mapped out in 2014, will see release this year. Take a listen to LongAmbients1: Calm. Sleep. in the Spotify player below before grabbing a free download here.
