Germany's Modeselektor entered the stage and launched straight into their set without any introduction. Their gaudy, trademark monkey face appeared on the huge screens above, followed by a giant volume meter in neon colours, a one-armed bandit, stained glass windows and a whole bunch of random shit. When they played "2000007," with its sampled francophone chorus courtesy of TTC, it was hard to hear it above the din of the Montreal crowd's cheers. The visuals were fantastic, the set was a lot of fun and pepped up on occasion with some live vocals. The wilfully nonsensical Modeselektor do one thing but they do it well, testament to which was the sea of smiling faces and non-stop dancing.
