Following a brief excursion into dubstep with their Modeselektion series last year, Berlin-based electronic greats Modeselektor have announced plans to return with a fully formed album.
The record is called Monkeytown and a press release says it sees them "returning in full force to their club-oriented roots." Here, the press release continues, the duo of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary are "producing hard hitting, intelligent club music that steps forward in sound and structure and still completely bombs the dancefloor."
In addition to their own stellar production work, the album will feature guest appearances by the one and only Thom Yorke as well as Busdriver, PVT, Anti Pop Consortium and Miss Platnum.
Monkeytown will hit stores on October 4 via the band's own Monkeytown Records. Apparently, they're obsessed with the idea of a municipality run by primates.
