Dither sees jam band moe. return to their own Fatboy Records after an unhappy stint with Sony. The band took their time doing the record, recording sessions from 1999 until early this year, and the results of working on their own terms have clearly paid off for this quintet. While the recordings themselves lend themselves to having a more lo-fi sound than their Sony output, it also finds the band stretching things out a little bit more than in the past. Assuredly the ability to be able to do things themselves once again has influenced the direction the band has taken, thankfully they are heading in the right direction, as Dither works well, especially on the album's standout track "Faker," which would garner commercial radio play on your local classic rock station if we lived in a better world.
