In what's become a Christmas tradition for Vancouver, BC hip-hopper Moka Only, the rapper has just dropped another holiday-themed record. Martian XMAS 2010 is the latest of several such collection and it has the MC dropping verses about his favourite time of the year.
Despite some samples of sleigh bells scattered throughout, Martian XMAS 2010 isn't entirely devoted to the Christmas season, but that doesn't make the 19-cut album any less of a gift.
On one of the more yuletide-styled numbers, "XMAS GWOP," Moka sends his season's greetings through your stereo system with lines about snatching up candy canes. He also apparently likes to spend time at the Krispy Kreme on Christmas Eve. A thick boom-bap backbeat amps up the otherwise chill, winter hip-hop hymnal full of jazz guitar lines, film score string swells and Moka's lax flow that 'goes down smoother than a Starbucks peppermint latte.'
