Theres some serious Blake Swarzenbach (Jawbreaker) worship happening on this five-song EP, from the "Chemistry mimicking power of opener "Information to the "Boxcar bounce of "Two Stories. This appropriately lo-fi-sounding recording brings out the grit in the bands sound, which, along with the gruff-sounding vocals of Ryan Seagrist, keeps their catchy-as-hell songs from falling too heavily into pure pop territory. At the same time, the instantly memorable melodies of songs like "Holiday prove that, at its core, Eat Your Young is simply a really great collection of pop songs played with a sense of vitality while cloaked in the grime of punk rock.
