Having cancelled their 2020 edition due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers of Montreal's International Jazz Festival have now announced plans to hold their 2021 edition in September.
While usually held in summer, the 2021 Montreal International Jazz Festival will run September 15 through 19 outdoors at Place des Festivals, "in order to be able to experience our festivals in a more 'normal' way."
In a statement, organizers shared that they "will continue to monitor the evolution of the situation closely" to ensure the festival respects provincial public health measures. Further information on the fest's 2021 edition can be found here.
Last year's cancellation marked the first time in 40 years that the Montreal International Jazz Festival did not take place.
As previously reported, the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival recently cancelled its 2020 festival outright.
