January is Montreal's coldest month, and while many residents will be sheltering themselves from the sub-zero temperatures, electronic music fans will be shaking off the winter blues at Igloofest. The festival will take place outdoors at the Old Port Quays during the last three weekends of January, and performers will include beloved electronic artists such as Carl Craig, Isolée and Kid Sister.
The event takes place over a total of nine days (Thursday through Saturday, three weekends in a row), with three to four performers a night. In addition to the artists listed above, the lineup will be rounded out by Stanton Warriors, Akufen,Seth Troxler, Marc Rémillard, Poirier, SBTRKT, Pépé Bradock, Joel Mull and many more.
The festival is now in its fifth year and is being put on in collaboration with Solotech. It will include visual art installations by the likes of Melissa Mongiat, Mouna Andraos, Baillat Cardell & Fils, Futil, and Gridspace. Admission for each night is $10. A pass for the full festival will cost just $40 if you buy before Christmas. Purchases made after Christmas will be $55, and will only be available until January 15.
Even if you can't make it out to the events, you can still enjoy Igloofest at home, as the concerts will be available as podcasts from Igloofest.ca at a later date.
In addition to the festival itself, Igloofest is putting on a show by Robyn at Montreal's Metropolis on January 27. Tickets for this concert are separate from the rest of the events.
