For Spencer Krug's latest album as Moonface, the Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown member stripped things down with Julia with Blue Jeans On, which consists entirely of piano and voice. Now, he's shared a video for the opening cut "Barbarian."
The song is epic despite the minimal arrangement, and the video contrasts the serious tone of the music by using archival camcorder footage of three kids performing a dance routine in the '80s. The kid on the far right in the red T-shirt (pictured above) is none other than a young Spencer Krug. There's also an unusual, art-y end.
Julia with Blue Jeans On came out today via Paper Bag/Jagjaguwar. See Krug's tour schedule (which includes an upcoming Vancouver gig) here.
