Morrissey Wears Far-Right "For Britain" Pin on 'Fallon'

Having just wrapped up his stint on Broadway, Morrissey hung around New York last night (May 13) to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — and he used the appearance to flaunt support for a far-right political group.

During the performance of the song "Morning Starship" Moz was spotted wearing a pin on his lapel with the three-pronged "For Britain" logo, which he has also been seen wearing at recent concerts.

The For Britain party was formed by Anne Marie Waters, who split with the UK Independence Party after Henry Bolton and Nigel Farage (of all people) called her and her supporters "Nazis and racists." The For Britain party has been widely criticized for its anti-Islamist policies.

Morrissey recently denounced the "loony left," claiming:

As far as racism goes, the modern Loony Left seem to forget that Hitler was Left wing! But of course, we are all called racist now, and the word is actually meaningless. It's just a way of changing the subject. When someone calls you racist, what they are saying is "Hmm, you actually have a point, and I don't know how to answer it, so perhaps if I distract you by calling you a bigot we'll both forget how enlightened your comment was."

Neither Morrissey nor Fallon has responded to the political controversy. Watch the performance in question below.

The singer's latest album, California Son, is due out May 24 via Morrissey's BMG imprint Etienne.
