Las Vegas police are looking to talk to Mos Def after the rapper allegedly pulled a Kanye and had a little dust-up with a photographer. According to the ever-swarmy TMZ, an arrest warrant has been issued for Mos Def following an incident that allegedly went down in August, with the star now facing charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of private property.
The charges stem from an alleged incident with photographer Volker Corell, an official events photographer for a fashion show attended by Mos Def in Sin City. According to the report, the rapper got irritated with Correll when he began taking pictures of him, leading Mos Def to rip the camera from the photographers neck, smash it to the floor and then leave with the damaged gear. Correll also claims he suffered a cut on his left hand during the scrap.
The incident follows a similar one involving Kanye West back in September, when West was arrested by police at Los Angeles International Airport after getting into a scuffle with the paparazzi. West was initially charged with felony vandalism but those charges were later dropped.
Mos Def may not be so lucky, however, since the allegations are from a credentialed photographer, rather than some celeb-hungry paparazzo. Making matters worse for Mos Def, according to TMZ, Correll didnt even know who the rapper was until after the incident.
