Mount Kimbie Sign with Warp for New LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 14, 2012

Two years ago, London, UK dubstep experimentalists Mount Kimbie garnered acclaim for their debut LP Crooks & Lovers. Despite the early praise, the outfit's stock is set to skyrocket with news that they've signed on with the venerable Warp Records imprint.

A press release from the label confirms that the duo of Kai Campos and Dom Maker are currently in the midst of prepping their debut full-length for the imprint. In a post on Facebook, the band had this to say about the signing:

Excited and honoured to announce that we have signed to Warp Records! We're looking forward to working together for a long time and feel this is the perfect home for our future endeavours.

We would like to say a big thank you to Hotflush Recordings for all the work they have done and express our gratitude to everyone that has supported us along the way.

Excited for the future,

Kai & Dom

While no real details have been revealed about Mount Kimbie's upcoming as-yet-untitled album, it likely won't be long before we get the usual details, from album title, to tracklisting, to its street date.

Mount Kimbie's last release was the 2011 Carbonated EP, which collected the Crooks & Lovers track of the same name, a remix of "Adriatic," and some stockpiled, unreleased material.
