Last year, grunge icons Mudhoney delivered news of their career-spanning documentary I'm Now: the Story of Mudhoney. The movie officially hit screens last June, and now fans of the '80s-bred band will be able to catch the flick in the comfort of their homes.
A press release confirms that King of Hearts Productions will stream the film for rental on Diversify October 30, but you'll also be able to nab a physical copy on DVD December 11 through Mudhoney's website, as well as through Sub Pop.
As previously reported, the flick chronicles the group's early days, homing in on early underground hits like "Touch Me, I'm Sick," and zooms all the way to the band's most recent world tour, in support of 2008's The Lucky Ones.
Filmmakers Ryan Short and Adam Pease assembled the flick with footage new and old, and captured interviews with the band and a collection of fans and friends. Some of the other artists who chatted with the filmmakers include Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, Soundgarden's Kim Thayil, and Sub Pop's Jonathan Poneman.
A previously revealed trailer had Ament describe the sonic interplay between Mudhoney guitarists Mark Arm and Steve Turner — both former bandmates of the Pearl Jam bassist from mid-'80s proto-grunge unit Green River — as such: "These two guys and these shitty guitars rocking, just rocking out."
