In the latest instalment of MUTEK's contemporary artist series Digitalis, we profile Women With Kitchen Appliances. Originally formed back in 1999 in Montreal, the group consists of visual artists, who experiment with live electronic music on the side.
As one might guess from the name, the group is all female and they use kitchen appliances to achieve interesting and unique found sound in their performances. As expressed in the interview, they "like the idea of chance and random play to influence what we do live."
