Nardvvuar

It's a veritable Canadian meeting of the minds on this cheery March morning, as we've just been blessed with a new Alvvays interview, courtesy of the one and only Nardwuar

With the band having played Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom earlier this month on the final night of their Blue Rev-supporting North American tourwe checked out the show and thought it was swell — the Toronto-via-Maritimes indie rockers naturally had to pay a visit to their West Coast pal at Neptoon Records, as is tradition.

In keeping other traditions, the Nard was generous with the gifts this visit to the video vault. The Human Serviette bestowed a Spacemen 3 record upon the band, leading Alec O'Hanley to tell the tale of how they once requested a "collabo" from Sonic Boom's Peter Kember to no avail. Nardwuar also shared a Cottars record, MuchMusic's Big Shiny Tunes 7 and Dance Mix 95 (with a Master T picture in the liner notes), and the Nevermind the Molluscs Sub Pop 7-inch, which includes tracks from fellow Canadians Sloan, Eric's Trip, Jale and Idée du Nord.

The interview highlight might be when Molly Rankin is coaxed into demonstrating some traditional Scottish stepdancing, which she performs only mildly reluctantly — who can resist Nardwuar's request?
