After hinting at a collaboration earlier this year, Nas and Hit-Boy have shared a release date for their latest work.

On their respective Instagram accounts, the rap icon and the platinum-certified producer shared some behind-the-scenes footage of a studio session, complete with the date August 21. Nas speaks highly of his collaborator in the clip, at one point telling the camera, "I've been trying to do this with this man for years."

Nas had previously teased work with Hit-Boy in April, teasing that team-up alongside another project he didn't elaborate on. Last year, he collected a series of previously unreleased songs for The Lost Tapes 2, which included the Hit-Boy-produced "Royalty."

Nas's last proper studio effort was 2018's Nasir, entirely produced by Kanye West. Hit-Boy contributed production to Jay Electronica's A Written Testimony earlier this year, while his 2019 featured work with SOB X RBE, Meek Mill, Saweetie and more.
