Neil Finn

Neil Finn's musical legacy is already ensured, thanks to his involvement with both Split Enz and Crowded House, but rather than resting on his 44-year-old laurels, he is continuing to explore new areas and collaborate with new musicians. That adventurous nature is what makes One All, his second solo album, one of the more interesting that he has been involved with in recent years. Finn's reputation has helped to recruit an impressive line-up of musicians to help out - Sheryl Crow, Mitchell Froom. Lisa Germano and Wendy & Lisa all show up to make this sound like a band effort. Neil also collaborates with both Wendy and Lisa on songwriting duties, although you'd hardly know because everything ends up sounding a lot like Crowded House (or maybe even Prefab Sprout), which isn't necessarily a bad thing. While there's nothing particularly innovative about One All, it does have some songs that rival Finn's strongest work - "Wherever You Are‚" "Lullaby Requiem" and "Secret God" are really that good.
