The family of Neil Peart have announced an official memorial celebration in honour of the late Rush drummer and lyricist. "A Night for Neil" will take place in Peart's hometown of St. Catharines, ON, on May 16 at the Meridian Centre.
Coordinated by the Peart family in conjunction with charity Overtime Angels, the evening will feature "a wide array of production professionals, world-class musicians, and guest speakers" paying tribute to musician's life and career. The roster of artists and speakers has yet to be released.
"A Night for Neil" will also benefit the St. Catharines Hospital and Walker Cancer Centre, the Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre in Hamilton, ON, and the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, ON.
"We are grateful for the team that Overtime Angels is assembling," Peart's parents, Glen and Betty Peart, said in a statement. "We are especially pleased to be able to support this charity event that will benefit some much-needed organizations that are close to our hearts."

Peart passed away in January following a battle with brain cancer. He was 67.
Rush recently lifted the curtain on an anniversary edition of Permanent Waves. Primus are set to pay tribute to the band on tour this summer.
