Neon Indian Titles Sophomore Album 'Era Extraña,' Sets September Release

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 18, 2011

We already knew that chillwave master Neon Indian was hard at work on his new album, but until now, the details of the sophomore release were still up in the air. Well, now we have a tentative title and a release date to mull over while we wait for Alan Palomo to release new music.

According to a new listing on the online store Insound [via One Thirty BPM], the album will be called Era Extraña, which seems like a fitting trippy title for someone who called his debut LP Psychic Chasms.

The disc is currently slated for a September 13 release through Static Tongues/Mom + Pop. You can pre-order a copy over here. There's also a thumbnail of the possible album cover.

UPDATE: Pitchfork has confirmed the release date and title are indeed correct. You can also see the album cover above.

Palomo recently confirmed on Twitter that the new disc was complete. On June 30, he wrote, "Chillin at mastering. Riffing on Peter Gabriel." Later that day, he tweeted, "It's mastered."

See a short preview video for the new album below. It features an excerpt of the instrumental movement "Heart: Attack."
