Neurosis Announce 'Honor Found in Decay'

Bay Area metal masters Neurosis have spent the last while reissuing their back catalogue, but it's been five years since the long-running band delivered their last full-length, 2007's Given to the Rising. A couple of weeks back, Neurosis let loose a few cryptic album teasers (watch below), but the act have now gone and announced their 11th full-length properly. It's called Honor Found in Decay, and the album hits retailers through the band's own Neurot Recordings October 30.

A tracklisting has yet to be offered up, but a press release describes the set as "both torturous and transcendent," which sounds like business as usual. The one-sheet also insists that it sounds like the "trials and tribulations of mankind are being channelled through" the five musical members of the unit. Sixth member and visual contributor Josh Graham is still with the project, but cover art has not yet been revealed.

The outfit have evolved considerably from their earliest releases to their modern-day headiness (try connecting the dots between the crusty hardcore attack of 1988's Pain of Mind, the mid '90s experimental sludgefest Through Silver in Blood and the solemn post-rock doom of Given to the Rising's "To the Wind"), so fans are no doubt salivating at what the nearly 30-year-old act have up their sleeves with Honor Found in Decay.
