While conceptual metal force Neurosis may or may not have a new album landing this year, Relapse Records has revealed it will be treating a few of the group's most devastating '90s-era releases to new vinyl pressings.
Today (July 9), Neurosis' old label announced upcoming deluxe double-LP reissues for 1996's ominous Through Silver in Blood and 1999's equally impactful Times of Grace, as well as a new version of sister outfit Tribes of Neurot's complementary effort, Grace. These are all set to hit stores September 4.
While vinyl copies of Through Silver in Blood appeared through European label Iron City Records in the mid-'90s, Relapse only treated the LP to a vinyl release in 2006. Those domestic copies have since gone out of print and command high prices on the resale market. This reissue comes with modified artwork, and appears in a traditional black vinyl pressing, another variant on "Black/Oxblood Half 'n Half" and in limited quantities on silver wax, referencing Relapse's ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations.
Times of Grace has not been pressed onto vinyl since its initial release back in 1999, with original copies fetching over $175 on Discogs. The album will also be preserved on black wax, "Black/Oxblood Half 'n Half," and silver vinyl.
Atmospheric side-project Tribes of Neurot had initially delivered Grace on CD through their own Neurot Recordings. The upcoming Relapse re-release marks the first time it will appear on vinyl. It is being offered up in separate pressings on silver and black wax, respectively.
Pre-order and pressing info can be found over here.
Down below, you'll find an audio player promoting Through Silver in Blood's moody and monolithic title cut, and Times of Grace's conscious-expanding "The Doorway."
As previously reported, Neurosis have a few North American tour dates coming up this summer. This includes an appearance at Toronto's Opera House on August 6 and a set at Heavy Montreal the next day.
