It's been two years since New Country Rehab earned our approval with their self-titled debut album, and now the Toronto roots band are back with album number two. Ghost of Your Charms will be out on March 5 via the band's new label home of Kelp Records.
The album was recorded in the outfit's hometown with producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Ohbijou, the D'urbervilles). Of its 11 songs, nine are originals. For a taste of the band's new material, get a free download of the twangy country-rock number "Luxury Motel" over at Soundcloud. A live performance of the tune is at the bottom of this page.
A press release notes that the album explores themes like "love, loss, death and decisions." Its instrumentation includes double bass, fiddle, a slew of guitar effects, and a drum kit featuring a sawblade cymbal and goat hooves shakers.
The band will promote the album with a Canadian tour in the coming months. This will find them touring from Ontario all the way to the Pacific coast. See the schedule below.
