New J Dilla Album On the Way

Remember last month, when we pointed out that J Dilla was as prolific after his unfortunate death as he was before? Well, our point is proved again with the announce of Jay Stay Paid, a brand new Dilla album to come from the much missed hip-hop producer.

Due June 2 from Nature Sounds, Jay Stay Paid features freshly unearthed material from the late producer, and those questioning it's legitimacy can take comfort in the fact that the record was co-produced by Dilla's mom, Ma Dukes. "This album combines what he did in the beginning of his career, what he did in some of our early hospital stays, which was very deep, and some stuff pulled from old floppy disks & DATs," she said in a press release. "Its mind blowing... this is like the missing links to Dilla's legacy."

The 25-track release was also arranged and mixed by Dilla's idol Pete Rock, and features raps from the Roots' Black Thought and MF DOOM.
