The BP oil spill from this past April may not make headlines like it once did, but it continues to have a disastrous impact on the Gulf Coast environment. To ensure that the issue remains in the forefront of people's minds, Canadian power pop collective the New Pornographers have teamed with Oxfam to release a video for "Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk."
The video begins with a slightly awkward clip of singers Carl Newman, Neko Case and Kathryn Calder sitting on a couch, discussing the need for ongoing awareness about the oil spill. The rest of the video emphases the struggle of Americans on the Gulf Coast, showing images of straining business owners and devastated coastlines.
"Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk" comes from this year's Together, which came out in May via Matador.
