Nick Cave Plans to Turn Bunny Munro into TV Series

Nick Cave just can't seem to get enough of the characters in his latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro. Following a press blitz and the book's own unique iPhone app, the Aussie author has now revealed that he's likely to expand the project into a TV show.

In a recent interview with Spinner, Cave revealed his TV desires, saying, "I want to do a TV series or at least like a three-part TV series. You can go deeper with TV in a way, within actually creating a character. You have more time to live with the character."

Director and frequent Cave collaborator John Hillcoat made this sound more likely in a recent interview with Atomic Popcorn [via TwentyFourBit], saying, "We're going to turn that into television. We're going to try and wake up the BBC and, or, actually Channel 4. We're trying to say to British television, 'Look at HBO, I mean what the hell are you doing?'"

Whether or not they can get this ball rolling is yet to be seen. In the meantime, Hillcoat's adaptation of The Road, featuring a score from Cave, is due in theatres later this month.
