Earlier this year, we learned that the ever-busy Nicki Minaj would be executive producing a new ABC Family series about her childhood. Today, the performer detailed the show through her Instagram.
The show will simply be called Nicki, and will star Fruitvale Station actress Ariana Neal as a young Nicki Minaj. At 10, Neal is likely the youngest child actor to ever play a character named after a group sex act.
Further, the show will also star Selita Ebanks (Real Husbands of Hollywood), Wesley Jonathan (The Soul Man), McCarrie McCausland (Army Wives) and others.
Minaj is also set to appear in the show, though her exact role is unclear. As for more star power, the series will also include a cameo from Whoopi Goldberg as Nicki's sure-to-be-zany neighbour Miss Martha.
The show's premiere date has not yet been confirmed, but by the time it's ready ABC Family will no longer exist. The network is changing its name to Freeform next month.
