In 2005, director Ben Wolfinsohn (Friends Forever) made High School Record, a coming-of-age teen movie about high school angst and the jocks versus the cool kids.
Sounds pretty typical, right? Well, where it gets amazing is the cast: the movie stars Dean Spunt and Randy Randall from No Age (both pictured above), alongside Jenna Thornhill, Jennifer Clavin and Jessica Clavin of Mika Miko, Becky Stark of Lavender Diamond and Minutemen/Stooges bassist Mike Watt. The film also boasts a soundtrack featuring No Age and Dan Deacon.
The film played at Sundance but never got any distribution. Fortunately, its finally available on DVD and can be ordered on Amazon.
