Montreal punks NOBRO are roaring back to life: they're gearing up to shred some fresh truths directly in our faces with the announcement of a new EP.

Live Your Truth Shred Some Gnar arrives February 23 via Dine Alone Records. Produced by frequent collaborator Thomas D'Arcy and mixed by PUP producer Dave Schiffman, it follows the quartet's 2020 EP Sick Hustle — which made Exclaim!'s 25 Best EPs that year.

"Live Your Truth Shred Some Gnar; tell that to yourself in the mirror every morning and make it your mantra," bandleader Kathryn McCaughey said of the collection. However, new single "Bye Bye Baby" sees guitarist Karolane Carbonneau stepping in on lead vocals.

"When I wrote that song, I was having the worst breakup of my life," Carbonneau told BrooklynVegan. "Kathryn, the lead singer of our band, said to me, 'You should take advantage of your sadness to write a freaking badass song.'"

The result? A ripping kiss-off anthem that shreds nothing short of an abundance of gnar.

"I've always wanted to sing lead vocals on a song, but I never got the guts to do it," the guitarist admitted. "Props to Kathryn for the support and forcing me to do it! And please, do yourself a favour and never let anyone bring you down. Always believe in yourself."

While no tracklist has been shared yet, the EP is said to feature seven tracks — including "Bye Bye Baby" and perhaps "Julia," which landed in December.

NOBRO are slated to embark on a cross-country trek in support of Billy Talent with PUP and Rise Against starting next month, and McCaughey will feature on THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND.
