Noel Gallagher is famously allergic to a little bit of fun. When he's not refusing to do the poznań when his beloved Manchester City wins a game, he's equating waving flags with the wokeification of music festivals.
The angry squirt attended Glastonbury last weekend, and seemed to have a pretty good time hanging out with his friend Matt Smith. Of course, he still needed something to complain about.
"Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Glastonbury. I think it's one of the most important things. In fact it's probably the best fucking thing about Britain apart from the Premier League," Gallagher told The Sun, before reverting back to an old man who yells at cloud.
"It's getting a bit woke now, that place, and a bit kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signalling," he continued. "I don't like it in music — little fucking idiots waving flags around and making political statements and bands taking the stage and saying, 'Hey guys, isn't war terrible, yeah? Let's all boo war. Fuck the Tories man,' and all that."
During this year's festivities, Gallagher saw the rap trio Kneecap, and raved about "how enjoyable it was." The funny thing is, Kneecap's music is inherently political, and boasts themes of Irish republicanism. Unless he's like just-ousted UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak with no critical ear for lyrics, maybe some politics are okay over others, as a treat.
