Norwegian Boy Defends Himself from Wolves Using Creed

Creed were one of the most successful bands of the late '90s/early 2000s, but they've fallen on hard times in recent years. Just take a look at how well their 2009 reunion tour went. Now, it turns out that animals aren't any more impressed by Creed than people are.

Der Spiegel reports that a 13-year-old Norwegian boy scared off a pack of wolves by playing Creed's music. Walter Eikrem, who lives in the town of Rakkestadwas, was walking home after school while listening to Creed on his cellphone. He found himself faced with four wolves and, in an attempt to scare them off, unplugged his headphones and turned the volume up all the way.

With the song "Overcome" coming through the miniature speakers, Eikrem began yelling and waving his arms above his head. Talking with Norway's TV 2, the boy said, "They didn't really get scared. They just turned around and simply trotted away."

Judging by Eikrem's experience, it seems that Creed's music just might be redeemable after all. If you live in a region with wolves, you might want to keep "Overcome" handy on your phone, just in case.
