While Robotic Empire's Whatever Nevermind tribute compilation to Nirvana's Nevermind arrives this Record Store Day (April 18), you can sample a soothing preview ahead of the official release. Nothing have just aired a new, low-key approach to the classic album's "Something in the Way."
Missing are Kurt Cobain's familiar vocals, and the rustic acoustic guitar-and-cello direction of the original. The tone is just as sombre, though, with Nothing plodding through the moody tune with the use of a piano, textured ambient tones and more.
You'll find a stream below via Noisey.
As previously reported, Whatever Nevermind also finds Torche, Boris, Circa Survive, Touche Amore, Kylesa, Cave In and more tackling iconic cuts from Nevermind. You can pre-order the set here.
