Nothing Unveil Debut Album for Relapse

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 10, 2014

Following up the dreamy but distorted soundscapes of 2012's Downwards Years to Come EP, shoegaze-leaning Philadelphians Nothing are now ready to unfurl their first full-length, Guilty of Everything.

The nine-song LP arrives March 4 through new label home Relapse Records, and a press release describes the set as a "massively loud shoegaze record that is both darkly introspective and completely beautiful." Touchstones for the album apparently include My Bloody Valentine and Jesu.

You can sample the previously teased, distortion-dusted slice of dream pop that is the record's "Dig" down below, while a music video for "Bent Nail" was recently filmed with director Don Argott (Art of the Steal, Last Days Here) and is expected to arrive sometime soon. You can also check out an album trailer at the bottom of the page.

Nothing were founded in 2011 by Domenic Palermo, who had previously fronted early 2000s hardcore band Horror Show before being sent to prison in 2002 for two years over a stabbing incident. Since issuing the Poshlost demo tape, Palermo has written Nothing material together with Brandon Setta.

On top of the album news, Nothing are gearing up for a quick North American tour with Weekend, which hits Toronto and Montreal later this month. You'll find the concert details beneath Guilty of Everything's tracklisting.
