While today (April 15) marks the release of Odonis Odonis's second full-length effort, Hard Boiled Soft Boiled, the fuzzed-up Toronto noise-pop unit are going all-out by also unveiling a spacey new video for the album's "Highnote."
While still slathered in distortion, "Highnote" is a subtler Odonis Odonis tune, veering itself from an understated wash of warbling '80s guitar textures into an upward trajectory of chiming six-strings, ambient noise and constellation-bound vocal harmonies. Visually, the video likewise is sent straight into the cosmos via a series of nostalgic images of astronauts screened on old-school TVs.
