Ogurusu Norihide

An inconsistent recording that seems to be more of a conceptual music project for a college course than a traditional music release, Humour is actually two independently released recordings previously called Study and I. On the first part, tracks one through seven are acoustic guitar, keyboard and minimal click-electronic pieces that tend to the daydream-y side, which in turn get more abstract towards tracks five and six. The second part, previously known as I, is an exercise in repetition done via acoustic instruments that play halting and repetitive patterns in a tentative manner. Track eight consists of guitars, nine is bucket drums played by hand and track ten is just solo piano. Apart from some interesting electronic music craftsmanship, the best thing about this CD is Norihide's guitar playing, which is delightfully folksy and catchy.
