Following a rough night at Chicago's Lollapalooza that saw severe weather cancel several performances, Montreal's Osheaga is off to a rocky start. The festival kicked off today (August 4) at the city's Parc Jean-Drapeau and already the event was forced to be put on hold due to severe weather in the area.
This afternoon, the festival issued a statement, informing festivalgoers that "We are currently experiencing severe weather conditions. The show schedule is temporarily interrupted." Along with this notice, Environment Canada issued tornado warnings in the area.
Soon after, though, the festival got things back underway, even going so far as to tweet "What rain???"
Besides the festival-stopping weather at the actual site, Osheaga has been hit with several artist cancellations so far. As previously reported today, Solange announced she would no longer be playing the event, while now De La Soul and Noname have axed their sets due to "unforeseen travel issues."
