Ozzy Osbourne's ongoing health setbacks led him to postpone his European tour until 2021 earlier this month, but it appears the Black Sabbath frontman won't keep fans waiting much longer on new solo material.
In an appearance on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show, Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne revealed that his new solo album would arrive in January of next year.
Ozzy is reportedly at work on the record with producer Andrew Watt, who helmed his recent collaboration with Post Malone and Travis Scott, "Take What You Want." The full-length would mark his first solo effort since 2010's Scream.
"He's getting there. He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he's getting there," Sharon said of Ozzy's recovery process. "He's just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January. And he's doing good. He's very excited about the duet he did with Post and also Travis Scott. It's doing great. It's at Top 40 radio, and it's climbing up every week. It's doing good."
Sharon added that Ozzy is in good spirits, saying, "Now he's done his album, and it's coming out, and everybody's really pumped about it. He's happy... he is."
She went on to say that he's still intent on completing the postponed trip to Europe as part of his "No More Tours 2" trek.
"He has another year and a half to do. And these kids have held on to their [postponed show] tickets for over a year," Sharon said. "And he's gonna go back and he's gonna fulfill that commitment; he's gonna play those shows. And he's not totally retiring, but the touring, he won't do any more touring."
Though he won't be touring Europe next year, Osbourne is slated to begin a North American touron May 27 in Atlanta. Multiple Canadian stops are featured on the run, and you can revisit all current dates here.
