Pact

Pact (as in, "Hey, let's make a pact with Satan!") are dead serious about black metal, and they have the album art to prove it. A Satan goat with wings spread, gripping a chained priest and a nun by the head? Yeah, this is serious black metal territory. Now, Pennsylvania might not seem like a breeding ground for satanic rituals and ungodly pacts, but it looks like Pact are doing for Pennsylvania what Stephen King did for Maine. Pact's debut is straight-up old school black metal done very well. They've landed right on target with The Dragon Lineage of Satan, showcasing musical talent, screams that could shatter a virgin's innocence and the will to cover themselves in leather and smudged black and white make-up. These characteristics alone would have scored them major points, but the music they make is also very good. Pact are exactly what you've been waiting for, creating the kind of black metal that will have fans thanking Satan himself for these remarkable Yankee odes to the dark side. While traditionally lo-fi, Dragon Lineage of Satan has just enough production quality to sound great on a stereo. There are also a few transition moments between songs that are as scary as The Exorcist ― not an easy thing to pull-off.
