Brooklyn indie pop crew the Pains of Being Pure at Heart are planning to return with Days of Abandon, their third LP. For now, however, we'll have to stick with single "Simple and Sure," which now has a video.
The black and white clip focuses on some rich socialites at a dinner party. Rather than stick with a normal video, however, the three-and-a-half-minute clip is divided into brief looping images, as though it were a collection of animated GIFs.
Speaking with Nylon, the band's Kip Berman said, "I'm taken aback at how many online outlets now reduce their content to a series of GIFs, assuming a minute long video or a single paragraph of text to be too burdensome. We're as much prisoners of our need for constant distraction and instant sensation as the trapped guests at the dinner party."
Watch the video for "Simple and Sure" below. Days of Abandon has been delayed from its original April 22 release date and will now arrive on May 13.
