Panda Bear

"Soft Serve Rip Curl" / "Principe Real"

In addition to premiering Animal Collective's new Centipede Hz track "Today's Supernatural" on the group's radio program last night (July 29), Panda Bear managed to drop a few unreleased solo instrumentals as well. They're called "Soft Serve Rip Curl" and "Principe Real," and you can stream both down below.

"Soft Serve Rip Curl" is a hypnagogic quickie that mangles a steady mouse click with bird chirps and new age synths before ushering in a snippet of pain-stricken dialogue. "Principe Real," meanwhile, gets its groove on for much longer, thrusting early '90s keyboard stabs, à la Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman," over a thick boom bap, computer blips and whooshing wind sounds.

As for AC's Centipede Hz, it will be available on September 4 via Domino.

Thanks to Consequence of Sound/Collected Animals for the hook-up.
