6ix apostles dvsn embarked on their first headlining tour this month, taking the smooth, after-hours sounds of their debut Sept. 5 to live audiences across Canada and the U.S. Now, they're back home to stick the landing before heading back out on the road with Drake and Future. EDM heads on the West Coast can look forward to this Canada Day weekend, when big-top, bass-heavy stars descend on Surrey, BC for its annual FVDED in the Park festival. Montreal Jazz Festival

The legendary Montreal Jazz Festival returns this week with a lineup that welcomes a mixture of jazz giants and contemporary pop and rock. Leading the charge this year are soul queen Lauryn Hill, fusion mastermind Chick Corea, minimal techno auteur Pantha Du Prince, soul-jazz luminary Taylor McFerrin and Brian Wilson, who will be performing the seminal Pet Sounds in its entirety. With a cast of characters this diverse, there's no reason not to check out the largest jazz festival in the world.

Shake! Fest reconvenes in Victoria this week for its third iteration, featuring an all-star ensemble of 25 bands from across Canada. Highlights include fuzz-pop regents the Courtneys, Calgary rising stars Lab Coast and Victoria garage-rockers Slam Dunk — that is, if you even need an excuse to enjoy the ocean vibes of Victoria.

Toronto Jazz Fest

Toronto Jazz festival continues this week with a marriage of old and new talents. Highlights this year include legendary trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, disco kings KC and the Sunshine Band and new school fusion master Robert Glasper. With talent this strong and a number of free concerts on the docket, this is definitely one to be excited about.
