Paul McCartney has had an impressive career to say the least, and it will be honoured this fall with a star-studded tribute album titled The Art of McCartney.
The collection is set to arrive on November 17 via Arctic Poppy/Sony Music Canada, and according to a press release, it's been in the works for over a decade. Given the high-profile contributor list, it isn't surprising that it took producer Ralph Stall a while to put everything together.
The Art of McCartney nabbed major names like the Cure, Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Willie Nelson, Kiss and Roger Daltrey to record new versions of Macca classics alongside McCartney's own backing musicians. It will be released in digital, CD and vinyl formats, in addition to a deluxe version that will include a making-of documentary about the album, a Hofner bass USB drive and a certificate of authenticity.
