Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell were arrested over the weekend on a disorderly conduct charge following an alleged "family dispute."
Details are slim, but a press conference in New Canaan, CT, earlier this morning (April 28) had police confirming that they had responded to an incident on Saturday night and were sent to the couple's home, where an officer "found probable cause" to arrest both Simon and Brickell. NBC had originally reported that Simon had been arrested for domestic violence, but that was quickly downgraded to disorderly conduct.
The musicians were released, and showed up at Connecticut courtroom earlier today to be arraigned.
Simon and Brickell were married in 1992 and have three children together. Neither has made a statement on the incident.
Last year, Simon undertook a North American tour with Sting, while Brickell issued the bluegrass-styled Love Has Come for You collaborative album with Steve Martin.
