Pendulum

Exploding onto the drum & bass scene with massive single "Vault" back in 2004, it wasn't until 2005 that the hype surrounding Pendulum was finally realized via Breakbeat Kaos with Hold Your Colour and the singles that it spawned. With several other massive hits around the time, such as "Masochist," "Blood Sugar" and their radio-popularised remixes of Nightbreed's "Pack of Wolves" and Prodigy anthem "Voodoo People," they firmly cemented a place amongst a wider audience than just the regular junglists. After a handful of rare live performances to whet the appetites of fans with a full band the likes of which electronic music hadn't seen since Prodigy, it was three years until they finally completed follow-up album In Silico. More geared to their live performance as an electronic rock band with vocal singles, such as "Propane Nightmares" and "Granite," than the original club bangers, such as "Another Planet" and "The Terminal" (loosely reprised in "Mutiny"), it hasn't taken away from the sheer energy and intensity of the pounding beats, ripping synths and screeching guitars that make the Pendulum sound such an appealing, indulgent pleasure.
