In the last couple of years, Peter Gabriel has been busy revisiting some of the highlights of his legendary solo career. He already recruited some of his favourite artists to record covers from his back catalogue and is currently working on an album of orchestral versions of his songs. Now, the songwriter is preparing a series of reissues for 2011, including 1986 smash So.
In his monthly video blog [via Slicing Up Eyeballs], Gabriel said, "I've been given a little boot up the backside, as it's 25 years next year from So's original release. So we want to try and do something around that."
While the exact contents of the reissue haven't been announced, Gabriel revealed that it will likely be a "special package" containing archival "mixes and demos." Also, expect to see some new artwork as well.
So was the peak of Gabriel's popularity, spawning mega-hits "In Your Eyes" and "Sledgehammer." It also contained successful singles "Don't Give Up" (a duet with Kate Bush), "Big Time" and "Red Rain." It was previously remastered in 2002 and released with a reordered tracklist.
